During this year's graduation ceremony a total of two CompEng graduates were honoured with an award for their outstanding achievements. The Niemann Engineering Prize, which is awarded annually for the best achievement in the master’s programme Computational Engineering, goes this year to Thuc Pham-Phu for his master's thesis on ‘Numerical modeling of ferroelectric domain evolution considering flexoelectric’ under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Balzani (Chair of Continuum Mechanicsand) and Xuan Vu Nguyen for his Master's thesis on ‘Finite element simulation of the evolution of surface roughness of a crystalline solid under cyclic load’ under the supervision of Prof. Alexander Hartmaier (Chair of Micromechanical and Macroscopic Modelling / ICAMS).
Thuc Pham-Phu's master's thesis was awarded the highest possible grade of 0.7. He graduated with an outstanding grade of 0.9. After graduating, he began a PhD at the Chair of Continuum Mechanics.
Xuan Vu Nguyen’s master's thesis was awarded a grade of 1.0, which was also his final graduation grade. Another outstanding achievement!
We would like to congratulate them both on their success!
