Last Monday, the 6th of October, we welcomed the new batch of CompEng and SubSurf students.

At the beginning of the new winter semester, right before the lecture period starts, we like to welcome our new students in Bochum, at the RUB, and into our program. Our welcome day this year started with a small introduction on Germany and, specifically, the Ruhr-area. Handing out a couple of recommendations in terms of what to see in Germany but also close by around the university, was delightedly appreciated by our new students.

After a quick break where everyone could grab some snacks and drinks, the group split into two, CompEngs and SubSurfs, and each group has then been informed about their specific programs, classes, and course of study.

Now, feeling more relieved as the stress of not knowing what to fully expect in their new studies has been cleared, the new students had more time to connect with their fellow classmates, ask one-on-one questions to some lecturers, and enjoy the rest of the day with snacks and drinks.

We are sure that, from this day on, new friendships will form, or deepen, and exciting new experiences will be made by all of our new students. Thank you to everyone who joined us on this year’s welcome day!
